SEATTLE--The biggest fireworks show in Seattle over Lake Union drew thousands of people to Gas Works Park on Wednesday night.

The dazzling light show high above Lake Union illuminated Seattle's skyline as a sea of red, white and blue marveled at ten thousand pounds of pyro painting the sky.

Not to miss a beat, many people arrived hours before the SeaFair Summer Fourth show.

"This is fantastic! I mean look around, I mean it's perfect weather and it's just full of interesting people and a lot of spirit,” said Drea Brunson who was at the show for the first time.

"It's super lively,” said Hudson Hunter who arrived hours before to secure a front row seat. “There's so many people. We came here and didn't think there were going to be a lot of people here."

The theme was about America and bringing people together with music, food and festivities.

Always close-by and visible were Seattle police, making sure everything went off without a hitch.

"Look around and see people that aren't like you, and we're all here for the same reason and celebrating our country,” said Brunson.

SeaFair organizers said they partnered with Uber to encourage ride sharing and cut down on traffic.
