ANACORTES, Wash. -- A Missouri fugitive was captured with the help of a drone after he allegedly attacked his girlfriend at an Anacortes casino early Saturday morning.

It was just after 1 a.m. when Swinomish police officers were told of a domestic violence attack at the Swinomish Casino. Officers arrived to find a woman had been beaten and strangled by her 29-year-old boyfriend, police said. Witnesses said the attacker had run off before officers could arrive and investigators learned shortly thereafter their suspect had a history of being armed and attacking police officers.

A drone was brought in from the Skagit County Sheriff's Office to search using infrared cameras and soon after, spotted their suspect's thermal signature hiding under a nearby pier. He was arrested without incident moments later.

The suspect was identified as Justin T. Etier and had a parole violation warrant out of Missouri for skipping out on a robbery charge, officers said.

Etier has since been booked into the Skagit County Community Justice center for investigation of second degree domestic violence assault and on his fugitive warrant out of Missouri.
