Driver suspected of DUI after Vashon crash kills one

VASHON ISLAND, Wash. -- A 27-year-old man who is suspected of drunken driving has been jailed in a crash that killed a second man Wednesday night on Vashon Island.

The King County Sheriff's Office were alerted at 10:14 p.m. to the crash at Southwest Bank Road and Thorson Road.

A homeowner heard a loud crash and called 911.

Deputies believe the driver lost control in a sharp curve and hit a guardrail and tree.

His male passenger was dead.

A second passenger suffered serious injuries and was taken to Harborview Medical Center.

Deputies obtained a search warrant to draw blood from the driver, who was suspected of DUI. He was booked into the King County Jail for investigation of vehicular homicide.
