Man's body found along freeway in Central Wash.

PROSSER, Wash. - Sheriff's deputies say they have found a man's body along Interstate 82 in the Central Washington town of Prosser.

A motorist traveling on I-82 noticed the body Wednesday around 2:12 p.m. near the freeway. Deputies estimate the body was at that location for approximately four days.

Investigators say the body was found on the south side of a barbed wire fence, and they believe the man was trying to climb the fence. No signs of injury were apparent.

The man has not been identified. He is described as a white male, around 55 to 70 years old, and balding with a long beard, according to Benton County Sheriff's Office reports.

Deputies said the man was wearing new looking shoes, jeans, a dark green light jacket and a black beanie type cap. Detectives did not find any identification on the man.

Benton County sheriff's deputies are investigating. An autopsy is scheduled Friday to determine a cause of death.
