Delta flight to Shanghai diverted back to Seattle for lavatory maintenance issues

    Delta flight 589 from Seattle to Shanghai returned to Seattle Tuesday night due to "lavatory maintenance issues," according to a spokesperson with Delta.

    The flight, which has 190 customers onboard, will redepart for Shanghai after a replacement aircraft and crew are ready.

    "We apologize for any inconvenience to our customers onboard. The well-being of our customers and crew is always our top priority," says a spokesperson with Delta.

    According to Flight Aware, the plane took off from Seattle at 12:46 p.m. and landed back in Seattle at 6:11 p.m.
