SEATTLE - Prosecutors say a 50-year-old civilian cyber security expert stationed at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center in Keyport, Kitsap County, met a 12-year-old girl for sex in Bothell.

Robert Christian Perdomo allegedly met the girl on a phone chat line and drove to her Bothell apartment to meet her last month.

The girl told a psychologist about the encounter the next day, Bothell police reports say.

During an interview with a child specialist with the King County prosecutor's office, she claimed she met a 41-year-old man on a phone chat line Sept. 20. The man knew she was 12 and asked her to repeat that to him on the phone while he masturbated, she allegedly told authorities.

They also video-chatted on Skype that evening and arranged for him to visit her apartment the next day while her mother ran errands, reports indicate.

Perdomo, who is 50, according to court records, allegedly showed up Sept. 21 and picked the girl up in his convertible. They parked in a secluded area of the apartment parking lot and had sex, the Bothell Police Department reported.

Detectives traced the suspicious phone number in the girl's cell phone to Perdomo, who reportedly only lived in the Bremerton area for six months while being stationed in Keyport.

The girl picked Perdomo's image from a photo lineup as the man she met, Bothell police reported.

Detectives met Perdomo at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, where he recalled meeting the girl, but denied anything sexual occurred between them. He allegedly claimed that he realized she was young upon meeting her in person and only talked with her for 30 minutes before driving away.

Police arrested him and took him to King County Jail.

Prosecutors charged him Oct. 10 with second-degree child rape.
