Body found on Guemes Island beach

GUEMES ISLAND, Wash. -- The body of a woman was found Sunday afternoon on Agate Beach on Guemes Island north of Anacortes.

The Skagit County Sheriff's Office said the woman was 65 to 75 years old. She was about 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighed 140 to 145 pounds. She had a reddish brown dye over graying hair.

Authorities think she had been on the beach for less than 24 hours. No one reported missing fits the description of the body.
