Cyclist spots man's body floating in Redmond retention pond
REDMOND, Wash. -- Authorities are working to identify a man's body found in a retention pond Sunday morning.
A woman discovered the body while biking along a trail near Leary Way and 159th Place Northeast, Becky Range, spokeswoman for the Redmond Police, said
Range said the woman hoped it was a floating deer carcass, but called authorities to report it because she worried the remains might be human.
A King County Sheriff diver pulled the man's body from the pond. Authorities believe the man may have been in the water for several week.
Authorities are working to determine the dead man's age and cause of death. Redmond police say there are no public safety issues for the public.
