PACIFIC, Wash. — A collision involving a semi-truck and a pickup truck blocked all of the northbound lanes on State Route 167 south of Auburn for several hours Friday afternoon.
Washington State Patrol (WSP) said the roadway reopened just before 5 p.m.
WSP said the driver of the semi-truck was placed in custody for suspicion of DUI and was taken to the hospital. The pickup driver was injured, WSP said.
WSDOT said four people were taken to the hospital.
"There are several agencies at the scene working together," WSDOT tweeted at 3 p.m. "We understand it's frustrating to be stuck in traffic, but crews are working hard to clear the scene. We'll provide ongoing updates."
Valley Regional Fire is on the scene to treat patients, it tweeted.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
