EVERETT, Wash.-- Archbishop Murphy High School is closed Friday after a student made an online threat.

A 16-year-old boy stated in a Snapchat post he was going to kill someone, but did not name any specific person, according to Shari Ireton with the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies have since talked to the student, who admitted he made the threat, Ireton said. They've also confirmed the teen did not have access to guns.

Deputies say the student would not be arrested since the threat was not made toward any specific person or the school, but their investigating is continuing.

Meanwhile, school officials decided to cancel classes on Friday.

"The safety of our students and staff is our number one priority," officials wrote.
