SKYKOMISH, Wash. -- Eight people were injured Monday afternoon, including five children, in a head-on crash along Highway 2.
Police say a 16-year-old boy was driving his minivan east about 13 miles east of Skykomish when he crossed the center line and struck a westbound Honda Pilot with seven people inside.
The driver of the minivan was rushed to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. The two adults in the Pilot were sent to an Everett hospital, while five children in the SUV were all sent to a hospital in Monroe. The State Patrol says the ages of the children were 9, 6, a pair of three year olds and a one year old. The extent of their injuries were not given.
The police report states that neither drugs nor alcohol were suspected but the cause of the crash is still under investigation.
