SEATTLE - A 22-year-old man was critically injured early Sunday when he lost his balance and fell from the Magnolia Bridge, police said.
The incident unfolded at about 2:15 a.m. as the 22-year-old and another man were walking on the bridge, said Detective Mark Jamieson of the Seattle Police Department.
The 22-year-old attempted to climb over the railing in an attempt to get to the street below, lost his balance, fell and struck his head, Jamieson said.
Police and medics responded to the scene and the man was rushed to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition.
Seattle Fire Department spokesperson Kristin Tinsley said it is believed that the man fell 15 to 20 feet before landing on the street below.
