2-alarm fire damages apartment in Bremerton, injures two

BREMERTON, Wash. -- Several crews responded to a 2-alarm fire in Bremerton early Tuesday morning that damaged four apartment units and injured two people.

At about 1:40 a.m., firefighters were dispatched to the 1100 block of Wheaton Way to find the 22-unit building on fire. Two residents were taken to the hospital with smoke inhalation.

Firefighters believe the fire started somewhere on the first floor of the building, but it's unclear what caused the fire. Investigators will determine that once they can go inside the building.
