1 killed as semi truck, passenger car collide on I-5 in Skagit Co.
SKAGIT COUNTY, Wash. - One person was killed Wednesday when a semi truck collided with at least one other vehicle on Interstate 5 in northern Skagit County, the Washington State Patrol reported.
State troopers and medics responded to the scene, in the northbound lanes of I-5 near Bow Hill Road, at about 2:30 p.m. after receiving reports of a serious crash.
One person in a passenger vehicle was found dead of injuries suffered in the collision, said Trooper Heather Axtman of the State Patrol. No other information was immediately available about the victim.
The circumstances leading up to the crash are under investigation.
Both northbound lanes of I-5 are closed at the scene during the cleanup and investigation. Traffic is being diverted through a nearby rest area.
