1 killed as semi rigs, cars collide on I-5 in Skagit County
CONWAY, Wash. - One person was killed in a crash involving two semi trucks and two cars on Interstate 5 in Skagit County, the Washington State Patrol reports.
State troopers and medics responded to the scene, in the northbound lanes of I-5 near the State Route 534 interchange, at around 1:15 p.m. after receiving reports of a serious crash.
Two wrecked cars and two semi rigs were found blocking all northbound lanes at the crash site.
One crash victim was pronounced dead. There was no other immediate word about possible injuries.
A four-mile backup formed within a half-hour after the crash. All lanes are expected to be closed at the scene indefinitely.
