1 killed, 1 injured in Tacoma shooting; $1,000 reward offered for info
TACOMA, Wash. - Police are offering a $1,000 reward for help in identifying whoever shot a man and woman late Wednesday night as they were sitting in a car in a Tacoma neighborhood. The man later died of his injuries.
The incident unfolded at around 10:50 p.m. as victim Robert Doss II, 28, and a 20-year-old female friend were seated in a green 2004 Ford Explorer parked at the intersection of South 14th Street and L Street in the Hilltop neighborhood of Tacoma, police said.
Doss had entered the woman’s vehicle minutes before the shooting and was eating food when someone fired multiple gunshots into the vehicle. The woman was wounded, but she was able to drive herself and Doss to the hospital, where he died.
Officers responded to the scene where the shooting took place, but the shooter had fled the area.
The woman who was shot is expected to recover from her injuries.
No suspect description was immediately available.
