SEABECK, Wash. - A man was taken to the hospital Tuesday after his boat burst into flames Tuesday at a marina on Hood Canal, emergency officials said.
Deputies and firefighters rushed to the scene, the Seabeck Marina at 10360 Misery Point Road, at about 12:20 p.m. after receiving reports of a boat fire with 12-foot-high flames and a column of smoke.
Arriving crews found a boat fully ablaze inside the marina and immediately went to work extinguishing the flames, said Ileana LiMarzi of Central Kitsap Fire & Rescue.
The boat's owner had sustained minor injuries and was taken to Harrison Hospital in Bremerton for treatment.
