BURIEN, Wash. -- A man is dead and a woman is in critical condition Sunday morning after their 15-foot paddle boat capsized near Three Tree Point in Burien, according to a U.S. Coast Guard press release.

A helicopter crew and rescue boat crew responded to the incident after a call came in about 2:53 a.m. Sunday from dispatch.

When they arrived on the scene, crews found the capsized paddle boat near Seahurst Park, according to the release.

By about 5 a.m., the aircrew found the woman unresponsive in the water and later transported her to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

The man was also found and transported to Boeing airfield where he was pronounced dead.

The weather reportedly caused the boat to capsize.

The woman is reportedly in critical condition. More information about the man and woman has not been released at this time.
