SEATTLE - In middle and low-income countries, losing blood in child birth is the number one cause of death of expectant mothers.

Low income nations don't have collection and refrigeration to keep blood, so when it's needed there's not a supply ready like there is in the United States.

But now, Bloodworks Northwest has invented called the "BloodPak" which could help save the lives of mothers around the world.
