Washington state health officials confirmed over 87,000 total COVID-19 cases Tuesday, with over 400 new confirmed cases.
The Washington Department of Health reported 404 new COVID-19 cases, six additional hospitalizations and 24 more deaths due to the virus.
As of Tuesday, state health officials confirmed 87,042 COVID-19 cases, 7,483 hospitalizations and 2,124 deaths since the pandemic began in March.
Data for COVID-19 cases are trending in the wrong direction in many areas across the country but Washington state appears to be faring better.
Over one million deaths have now resulted from the coronavirus around the world amid grim predictions that the number will rise to two million.
In the U.S., the newest report from the Surgeon General said Washington state and a dozen other states are showing some promising numbers because less than three percent of all COVID-19 tests are positive.
