Sponsored: 2017 Nissan Altima brings sporty styling to the family sedan

    The Nissan Altima shook up the mid-size sedan segment in the 2016 model year in one of the most extensive mid-cycle makeovers in Nissan history – with revised styling, enhanced performance and new safety features. <p>{/p}

    When it comes to sedans, the competition is fierce. Kelley Blue Book found that 1 in 6 cars sold in the U.S. every year is a midsize sedan and for good reason: they’re safe, affordable and roomy. So what makes the 2017 Nissan Altima different?

    An updated body

    The latest version of the Nissan Altima comes with a completely updated body and interior. With a new, sportier look, a redesigned grille, an aerodynamic exterior and LED headlights, this car was designed to make a lasting impression day or night. When you choose the four-cylinder trims, you'll get the added benefit of the Active Grille-Shutters that automatically close at highway speeds to minimize less resistance and maximize efficiency.

    Interior features

    With Bluetooth, hands-free text messaging, smartphone integration, parking assist, predictive collision warning, advanced drive-assist, Bose audio system and plenty of upgrades, you'll get the comfort you’re used to at a low price you’re not.

    Maximized comfort

    Whether you choose the standard cloth seats or leather seats, one of the best features of this car is the comfort and support you’ll feel. The back seats are positioned high for maximum comfort, plus there’s plenty of leg room and lots of visibility. The front seat has an ergonomic layout that offers both driver and passenger easy access to controls.

    Arguing over how hot or cool to keep the car is no longer a problem. With dual-zone climate control, the driver and passenger can choose separate temperatures.

    Gas mileage

    The 2017 Altima is designed with gas efficiency in mind. With the CVT transmission, it’s as if this car is always operating with one gear that’s variable across all speeds. Not only will the ride feel smooth, this also helps save on gas because the transmission isn’t working to shift through gears. Designed to use unleaded fuel, this Altima uses roughly 29 miles per gallon in the city and 39 on the highway.

    More fun than your average sedan

    If you're looking for something sporty that will still keep your family safe, the 2017 Nissan Altima is a fantastic choice.

    This style has a sport-tuned suspension that makes it fun and easy to drive through turns and on twisting roads. You can also use the paddle-shifters that allow the CVT to simulate gear-shifting as if it had an automatic transmission. The aerodynamic rear-spoiler and 18-inch wheels add to its sporty look and feel.

    Safety, reliability and value

    Nissans have always been known for safety, and this model is no different. Scoring a five-star and a 9.7 overall rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, vehicles don’t come much safer. The backup cameras, blind-spot monitoring and automatic braking are invaluable safety features.

    For such a well-built sedan, you really can’t beat a starting price of $22,900.
