Will The Next Springsteen Or Madonna Come From Kirkland?
KIRKLAND - So, you say you have a dream of becoming a rock superstar but you don't know how to make it come true.
Now there's a school that might help.
It's called the Rock School and it holds classes at Kirkland's B.E.S.T. Alternative High School.
"It just kind of all fell together," said Rock School creator Wendy Simmons. "We wanted to come up with a concept where the kids were working toward something and putting them in bands seemed to be the way to go with that."
The school is open to student musicians between the ages of 12 and 21. Beginners and experienced rockers alike.
Simmons says they teach more than just music. "How to work together and feel good about themselves," she says.
