SEATTLE - Homicide detectives are investigating after a man's body was found Monday morning at Seattle's Gas Works Park.
Police responded to the park at about 4:30 a.m. after receiving multiple 911 calls about gunshots heard in the general vicinity of North Northlake Way and Meridian Avenue North, said Patrick Michaud of the Seattle police.
As officers were searching the area, another person walking through the park called 911 to report they had found a man dead of an apparent gunshot wound.
The King County Medical Examiner will determine the official cause of death.
No gun was found at the scene, nor is there much evidence of any kind there, Michaud said.
No other information was immediately available about the victim.
The body was found near a homeless camp in the area, but it's not clear if the man's death is connected to that.
Anyone who heard or saw anything unusual in the area overnight is urged to contact police.
