Watch: Waterspout hits near Dunedin, Florida
Quite the exciting day along the western coast of Florida Friday as several people spotted a waterspout just off shore.
The National Weather Service in Tampa says the waterspout touched down between Caladesi Island and Dunedin on the Intercoastal Waterway.
The waterspout lasted about 8 minutes, and there are so far no reports of any damage.
A waterspout is just a tornado that forms over water. Several strong thunderstorms were forecast for that area of Florida Friday.
