Just how hot was it back East?

It seemed every day we were Tweeting and posting about some intense heat numbers across the U.S., staring with the oppressive heat in Denver that created dangerous wildfire conditions to some all-time records being set back East (109 in Nashville?!?!)

I wanted to go through and see just how long and intense the heat wave was, so here is a chart showing a sample of cities' high temperatures, starting from June 22 through July 8.
