Freaky-loud thunder sends ballplayers scurrying at Texas Rangers game

They say everything's bigger in Texas -- apparently that includes thunderstorms.

Watch as a lightning strike hit very close to The Ballpark at Arlington, sending players and umpires racing off the field during the top of the 4th Sunday night during the Texas Rangers' game against the Minnesota Twins:

Which led to this amusing tweet by Twins' outfielder Denard Span:

That's the loudest noise I've ever heard. I thought Jesus was comin!

If you watch the video again, you can see the flash of the lightning strike hit just an instant before the thunder explodes.

At least they can take solace that the storm didn't blow away their tarp.
