Baseball being an outdoor sport, it's of course subject to the whims of Mother Nature.
On Sunday night, Nature made her presence known.
During one of three weather delays at a soaked Yankee Stadium, a few players got jumpy in the New York and Boston dugouts when thunder boomed and lightning crackled.
It reminded me of this video from last year when lightning struck the Texas ballpark out of nowhere.
It sent players and umpires racing off the field during the top of the 4th inning -- also on a Sunday game -- during the Texas Rangers' game against the Minnesota Twins:

Good thing that's rare in Seattle. Can't imagine what a nearby lightning strike would sound like at Safeco Field with the roof closed!
