Pete Combs is a veteran journalist with more than 40-years in radio, television, print and web. His work has garnered dozens of awards all over the country, including the prestigious Ralph Magill Award from the Associated Press in Florida for his coverage of Hurricanes Charlie, Francis, Ivan and Jean.
Until 2015, Pete was a frequent visitor to the Pacific Northwest where his son lived. “We fell in love with the magic of the region and its people,” he says. So when a rare reporter opening came up, Pete grabbed it.
Pete and his wife Karen have three children. One lives in Lynnwood, another is serving on active military duty at McConnell Air Force Base in Wichita, KS. And the third is a labor and delivery nurse in the Atlanta metropolitan area.
Pete and Karen also have two grandchildren.
