Seahawks top inaugural preseason AP Pro32 ranking

SEATTLE -- The Seahawks finished last year atop the NFL. And as far as the Associated Press' NFL poll is concerned, they will begin the 2015 season as the team to beat.

The AP has released their inaugural AP Pro32 rankings Tuesday and in what should be a surprise to no one, the Seahawks are ranked No. 1.

The poll surveys 12 sports writers and broadcasters to rank each team from 1 to 32. In this poll, the Super Bowl XLVIII champs garnered the top vote from 11 of the 12 writers, with the San Francisco 49ers getting the other first place vote (the Seahawks were No. 2 on that ballot.)

Speaking of the 49ers, they came in ranked No. 2 with Denver and New England ranked at No. 3 and 4, respectively. Green Bay and New Orleans tied for the No. 5 ranking.

The Oakland Raiders came in at the bottom of the poll, ranking 32nd.
