Nine Seahawks sit during national anthem
SEATTLE - Nine Seahawks sat during the national anthem in Sunday's game against the Colts.
Defensive lineman Michael Bennett, along with Cliff Avril, Sheldon Richardson, Frank Clark, Jarran Reed, Nazair Jones, Garrison Smith, Michael Wilhoite, and Marcus Smith all sat during the Star Spangled Banner at CenturyLink Field in Seattle.
Two other Seahawks, Justin Britt and Oday Aboushi stood alongside the group sitting on the Seahawks sideline.
Indianapolis Colts players stood with their arms interlocked.
This comes a week after the Seahawks remained in the locker room during the anthem when Seattle visited Tennessee.
Many players across the league continued to protest Sunday during the national anthem.
President Donald Trump continued to voice his outrage against the NFL protests, tweeting Saturday, encouraging players to stand during the national anthem.
"Very important that NFL players STAND tomorrow, and always, for the playing of our National Anthem. Respect our Flag and our Country!"
At a rally in Alabama in late September, President Trump encouraged NFL owners to fire any player who kneels during the anthem.
Earlier this week, Seahawks Doug Baldwin and Michael Bennett took part in a national panel discussion, insisting that NFL players are not protesting against the flag or country.
