Seahawks, Mama Sherman spend time with 12th Man

MILL CREEK, Wash. - Hundreds of Hawks fans lined up outside a Mill Creek sporting memorabilia store, but not just to see one of the players.

No, they turned out to meet the woman who gave birth to one of the stars of the team.

"We're gonna win. I see it. I see it in my head. Just like the whole team does," said Beverly "Mama" Sherman. Yes, that's Richard Sherman's mother.

She greeted the men, women and children who wanted her autograph, a quick word, and in many cases a cell phone photo. Today's event comes a day before the team flies out to the East Coast for the big game.

Mama Sherman said she just wants to get the game over with so her family can celebrate the ultimate win.

"Oh my goodness I have so much anxiety. I'm just so excited. I'm just, ooh, I can't wait! I wanna see my team hoist that Lombardi trophy."

She wasn't the only attraction at the store. Tight end Zach Miller signed autographs for fans before Mama Sherman arrived.

"Getting to a Super Bowl is something we've all dreamed of. It's your goal as a professional athlete to get to the pinnacle of your game," Miller said. "I think everybody's excited, I think everybody wants this week to go fast to get to game time."

Fans were grateful Miller took time for a meet-and-greet before he leaves. Teammates Bobby Wagner and Michael Bennett also signed autographs at the Boat Show in Seattle.
