Police say the victim was walking his dog near the park's baseball field when he passed a man sitting on a bench drinking coffee by himself. As he passed, the victim said the strange man -- who had a red afro -- began barking at him.
The victim shrugged off the odd encounter and continued walking. But, after getting roughly 50 yards away from the barking man, the victim turned around and noticed the man speeding toward him on a bicycle, according to police.
Before he knew what was happening, the victim said the man with the red afro crashed into him. He then leaped off the bike and pounced on the victim, who by that time had been knocked off his feet.
Police say the man with the red afro began punching and scratching the victim's face. The victim fought back, biting the attacker in the hand.
At that point police say the attacker stopped and told the victim he was "the toughest guy he has ever wrestled," according to police. He then rode away on his bike.
The victim wasn't seriously injured and now has an amazing story to tell his friends.
Officers searched the area but didn't find the man with the red afro. The victim described him as a white man in his mid 20s who stood roughly 5'7" tall and weighed about 200 pounds. He was wearing blue rain gear on Tuesday morning.
