Local Kids “Try So Hard” Under the Mentorship of a Rock God
SEATTLE, Wash. -- What began as more of a "mentorship" meeting has become the latest single to be promoted by an iconic Northwest band.
One day not too long ago, Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready was invited to mentor kids at the non-profit Treehouse For Kids. The group helps 7,000 local kids who are part of the foster care system.
“Initially the idea was just that Mike would maybe spend some time with the kids,” explains Treehouse’s Trent Freeman. “And then before we knew it, he was actually creating a song with them.”
