PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, Md. (ABC7) A Prince George's County officer was suspended for one year after taking up-skirt photos of women, the Prince George's County State's Attorney's Office reported on Friday. The one year suspension is to be followed by three years of probation, according to the Attorney's Office.

James Sims worked for the Hyattsville First Police District. He pleaded guilty to taking the photos in January.

According to Prince George's County officials, in June of 2016, Sims took an up skirt photo of a woman at a Sports Authority store in Bowie. The woman, who turned out to be an off-duty MPD officer, chased Sims out of the store before he jumped into his Prince George's County police cruiser and drove away.

The woman reportedly called the police after seeing Sims drive away, and Sims was brought in for questioning. When Sims was questioned, police say his phone had been wiped clean of photos. During their follow-up investigation, law enforcement sources say they found photos they believe he took of other women during traffic stops. According to law enforcement sources, they believe Sims pulled women over for traffic stops and then would take photos of them while hiding his camera phone under his ticket book.
