79-year-old man accused of rape in Bakersfield, Calif.
GOLDEN HILLS, Calif. Kern County deputies in the Bakersfield, Calif. area found a woman in her 40s who they say had been tied up and raped by a 79-year-old man. They heard her cries of distress coming from inside the man's garage.
The incident occurred Sunday in the suspect's Golden Hills garage, according to the sheriff's office.
"They found the (woman) in the detached garage area, partially clothed," said Deputy Doug Wilson on Thursday.
David Partovi was arrested on seven felony charges, which include forcible rape, forcible oral copulation, rape by a foreign object, and sodomy by use of force.
The 49-year-old victim's son called 911 when he didn't hear from his mother for over an hour.
The deputy said the woman and man met online.
"The way it looked during the investigation was that they made contact and she came out here of her own free will," said Wilson.
The woman was taken to Kern Medical Center, and Partovi was arrested. He has since posted bail and has been released, but is expected in court Friday.
