2 women killed in Mother's Day shooting on Virginia Highway
RICHMOND, Va. - Two women died and a man was injured in a highway shooting early Sunday morning.
According to The Associated Press, Virginia State Police reported seven people were traveling in a car in I-95 in Richmond shortly before 4 a.m., when another car fired shots at them.
Tanna Gardner, 23, who was driving the car full of people died at the scene. One of her passengers, Sharayne Holland, 26, died after she was transported to the hospital.
Authorities report a man was also taken to the hospital with serious injuries. No one else in the car was injured.
VSP is calling the shooting a "targeted incident," asking anyone with information to contact them.
