      Yakima police civilian employee accused of theft

      YAKIMA, Wash. (AP) - The Yakima Police Department has fired a civilian employee accused of skimming $5,500 from funds received for electronic home monitoring services.

      The Yakima Herald-Republic reports an audit discovered the money was missing. Yakima County prosecutors are deciding whether to file a felony theft charge.

      The employee was fired in September.
