Woman dies after collision with train on Kent Sounder platform
KENT, Wash. - A woman has died after getting hit by a BNSF train, the King County Sheriff's Office says.
Deputies responded to the 300 block of Railroad Avenue North just after 10:30 a.m. Sunday to reports of a woman bleeding from the head, Jessica Santos with the Sheriff's Office said.
Detectives found her lying face down and unconscious on the nearby Sounder platform. It's not clear what caused the collision.
The woman was rushed to the hospital, but she later died of her critical head injuries.
BNSF spokesperson Gus Melonas says the crew on the train did not observe striking anyone. Detectives are trying to find video of the incident to piece together more information.
