Woman robbed while walking with her children

SEATTLE -- A woman in her mid-30s was robbed while walking with her two children last Saturday morning in South Seattle, according to the Seattle Police Department.

According to the police report for the incident, the victim and her two sons were in the 2100 block of Rainier Avenue South around 11 a.m. when a man approached them and pushed one of the sons to the ground.

This caused the victim to stumble. As she was going to the ground, the man reportedly ripped the necklace from her neck, scratching her chest in the process, and ran off.

The victim and her children walked to the Hard Wok Cafe, more than a mile away, and called 911. When officers arrived, both of the victim's children were visibly shaken and crying. The three told officers they didn't report the robbery sooner because they were afraid of getting robbed again.

Officers were unable to find the man.
