Woman jumps off Bainbridge ferry, pulled from water
SEATTLE -- A woman jumped off the ferry Puyallup on Friday just it was leaving Seattle for Bainbridge Island.
The incident occurred about 2:15 p.m. Crew threw her a life ring, then deployed a lifeboat.
She was pulled from the water and taken back to shore, a ferry system spokesman said.
The woman was conscious and alert, the spokesman said.
The incident will put the Seattle-to-Bainbridge ferry runs about 40 minutes behind schedule.
