Wife, husband dead in Thurston murder-suicide
LACEY, Wash. -- A 45-year-old woman and her 45-year-old husband died from gunshots Friday night in an apparent murder-suicide east of Lacey, the Thurston County Sheriff's Office says.
Authorities were alerted to the shooting on Bella Court Southeast just before 10 p.m.
A 24-year-old man and a 12-year-old girl, the children of the couple, were in the house. The man called 911 to report that his parents were fighting. Dispatchers could hear fighting and possible gunshots, said Lt. Tim Rudloff of the Sheriff's Office.
Deputies later learned that the man reported that his father had shot his mother.
The man and his sister went to a neighbor's house. They were not injured..
Deputies found the 45-year-old woman in the living room. She was later pronounced dead.
They did not find the husband and tried to contact him with a loudspeaker. A SWAT team was called in, and its robot found the husband in the master bedroom closet.
He was dead, apparently from a self-inflicted gunshot to the head.
