SEATTLE - A pickup truck hauling a trailer caught fire and stopped rush hour traffic on Interstate 5 in Seattle Thursday night.

The fire broke out in the southbound lanes of I-5 near the West Seattle Bridge, just after 6:00 p.m.

The truck became fully engulfed in flames before firefighters arrived on scene.

All lanes of I-5 were shut down for about an hour while crews put out the fire and cleared the scene.

Seattle Fire said no one was injured and there's no word yet on what may have caused the fire.

All lanes were reopened just after 7:30 p.m. but the state Department of Transportation said the closure caused a six-mile backup.
