Watch: Navy helicopter rescues 3 kids, man from cliff on Wash. coast
LA PUSH. Wash. -- The Navy says a helicopter crew from Whidbey Island rescued a man and three children from a 40-foot cliff face on Third Beach near La Push on Sunday
The Navy says the man and his three children got trapped on a ledge after the tide came in. A search and rescue team from Naval Station Whidbey Island left the base just before 6:45 p.m.
The crew found the family with the help of a park ranger. The Navy crew evacuated the family in about 15 minutes, then flew them to the Quillayute State Airport.
It was the 26th rescue of the year for the search and rescue team from Naval Station Whidbey Island this year.
