The snow survey office in Mount Vernon reports the snowpack increased at higher mountain elevations in April but melted at mid and lower elevations.
Surveys found 120 percent of normal in north Puget Sound river basins, 99 percent in Lewis-Cowlitz basins, 99 percent Yakima, and 132 percent in the Spokane River basin.
The outlook also notes cool wet spring weather is likely coming to an end. Warmer, drier weather is forecast by the end of the month.
The Weather Service says the rainfall Thursday at Sea-Tac Airport of .54 inch set a record for the date, breaking the record of .32 set in 1961.
