Vancouver police shoot man accused of threatening family

VANCOUVER, Wash. - Vancouver police shot a man late Saturday night who is accused of threatening his family members with a gun, according to the Vancouver Police Department.

Police officers and the SWAT team were called to a home on Northeast 37th Street around 11 p.m.

Police spokeswoman Kim Kapp said the man refused to surrender. Minutes later a police officer shot the man.

His name has not been released.

He was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Kapp said.

Police are still on scene investigating.
