UW students attacked, robbed at gunpoint

SEATTLE -- A pair of University of Washington students were attacked and robbed at gunpoint by a group of men Sunday night near campus, according to the University of Washington Police Department.

The victims were walking in the 5000 block of 17th Avenue Northeast around 11:45 p.m. when they passed a group of four men in their 20s.

According to police, the men came up behind the victims, taking the female student's purse and cellphone and punching the male student in the face. During the robbery, one of the men reportedly pulled out a gun and pointed it at the victims.

The men told the victims to walk off northbound, and the men walked off in the opposite direction, according to police.

The victims could not provide a detailed description of the robbers, and officers were unable to locate any suspects.
