Two people shot during post-Super Bowl celebrations
SEATTLE -- Two people were struck in the leg during unrelated shootings near Pioneer Square following the Seahawks' first-ever Super Bowl victory Sunday.
According to the Seattle Police Department, the first shooting took place around 11:20 p.m. at First Avenue and Cherry Street. Officers arrived in time to arrest the suspect and recover a handgun.
The second shooting took place around 11:30 p.m. a few blocks away in the 200 block of Alaskan Way South. According to police, the shooter got away before officers arrived, but it is believed they knew the victim.
