Two injured in shooting at Angle Lake Park in SeaTac
SEATAC, Wash. - Two people were injured and a 22-year-old man is in custody after at shooting at Angle Lake Park Monday night, according to the King County Sheriff's Office.
Witnesses called 911 around 5:40 p.m. and reported seeing a man firing shots inside the park located in the 19500 bock of International Blvd. S.
They said the man then drove away, but detectives said he ended up down a dead-end street.
Deputies were able to locate the man and took him into custody.
One of the bullets traveled across Angle Lake and punched through a woman’s home.
“I was just lying on the couch and I hear this ping ping ping,” said Pam Reich, who lives on the far shore from Angle Lake Park.
Reich said she realized right away what she was hearing was gunfire, and she dropped to the ground and laid flat on the floor. She could hear the bullet ricocheting through the rooms.
“It went through the door here, it hit the wall, then it went through my closet door and hit the cement and then it landed in my purse," Reich said.
Reich said she's shaken-up but is trying to take her close-call in stride.
“I just hope this whole summer we don't have any other incidents like this again,” she said. “It is scary."
Investigators said about an hour later, two people showed up at a nearby hospital with gunshot wounds. But their injuries were non-life threatening.
No word yet on what may have led up to the shooting.
The King County Major Crimes Unit is still investigating.
