Two arrested in connection with South Seattle armed robberies
SEATTLE -- Officers arrested a man and woman in connection with a pair of armed robberies Monday afternoon in Rainier Valley.
According to the Seattle Police Department, a group of men and women robbed a man around 3 p.m. near Martin Luther King Jr. Way South and South Myrtle Street. During the robbery, one of the male suspects was reportedly armed with a handgun.
Officers arrived and arrested the suspect who had used the gun during the robbery, and the weapon was found under a nearby porch, according to police. A female suspect was also arrested.
According to police, a wallet found at the scene of the arrest had been stolen in a robbery an hour earlier near South Cloverdale Street and Rainier Avenue South.
Police believe the arrested man is responsible for both armed robberies.
The two suspects were booked into King County Jail for investigation of robbery.
