Tukwila officers smash window to save dog trapped in hot car
TUKWILA, Wash. - Officers with the Tukwila Police Department broke into a car Sunday to save a dog in distress.
The car was parked at Southcenter Mall. The windows were tinted and all closed expect for a back window that was slightly cracked, officers say.
Police broke through the rear window and reached around to unlock the door.
They say they found the dog panting and hiding under a seat. It was almost 90 degrees outside when officers rescued the dog, according to a photo tweeted by the Police Department.
Officers say they think the dog has been trapped in the car for 30 to 45 minutes. They waited at the car Sunday to speak with for the dog's owner. They say the owner could face some type of misdemeanor charge.
